ImageBoth Teo Papaloukas and Dimitris Diamantidis have declared that they are not sure if they will be at the Eurobasket 2009 due to injuries and fatigue.

Diamantidis underwent surgery lately in the abs and is expected to start training in four to six weeks. In the blog he keeps for his sponsor wind.gr he said that he is not sure yet if he's going to be able to take part in the competition in Poland. He will have to be examined first to see how his recovery is progressing and then decide whether he is able physically to be in Poland.

Papaloukas has always been in every competition the past years and is now seriously considering to take a rest this summer. He is already 32 and as he stated during his basketball camp "Papaloukamp", his body needs more rest now than in the previous years.

This could be a major blow for the medal hopes of the Greek National Team as the two are considered to be the prime of the Greek backcourt along Vasilis Spanoulis and Nikos Zisis.
