One of the most historic clubs in Europe, Fortitudo Bologna, is on the verge of destruction. The 2004 Euroleague finalist suffers to financial problems and was not accepted to participate in Italy's LegaDue next season.Fortitudo started the season with great dreams, assembling a decent squad and having a budget of nearly 8 million euro. The season however ended with the club's relegation in the LegaDue and with many of it's players unpaid for months.
All of the club's players were released and are free to continue their careers elsewhere and if Fortitudo's management does not settle all debts within a few days, the club may even ceise to exist.
