Captains delight at return of British pairing

Cheshire JetsJets Captains James Hamilton and Calvin Davies are getting set to welcome back fans favourites John Simpson and Richard Murphy to the Northgate for the 09/10 season.

Simpson who started out playing for the Ellesmere Port Panthers makes his return after a season at Everton Tigers. The combo guard started with the Jets back in 2004/05 and played a massive part in the league winning team of 2006/07.

Coach Paul Smith said;

"John is an excellent player who I know will do a great job for the Jets, it's great to have him back where he belongs at home, John was voted the fans MVP for 2006 so there's a lot of history between him and the club. What John will bring to this years squad is great defence, he's a fantastic team player and no-one is more delighted to have him back than James, Calvin and Shawn."

Assistant Coach Richard Murphy has also put pen to paper and re-signed for the coming season. Player/coach Murphy has been with the Jets since 2004.

Coach Smith added;

"Its great news for me and the team that Murph is returning as assistant coach he brings with him what I call tremendous basketball IQ and as a player he is one of our best 3 point shooters. Rich will be taking on a wider role in the community this season, in particular development within Warrington an area that is really thriving for Basketball. "

Fans can catch the first home game of the season on the 27th of September against Milton Keynes Lions at the Northgate Arena tip off is 5.30.
