Fernandez is an ultimate cunt. His bitch ass should have been ejected for the MMA grapple move on Parker.

how can fernandez not be ejected for this foul!!!!!! wow i understand now why you hate Spain , they get so much help from the refs, it's digusting. i already noticed two or three very suspect calls.
You know i can accept a spain win because the're clearly superior but that doesn't they're great winner. i can't wait when Navarro and Gasol will retire from their national team, it will be a great day for international basketball.
Damn, i'm so mad

I was stunned that Rudy was not thrown out after tackling Parker. Completely careless and dangerous on his end. At least Batum took advantage and brought France back into the game only to have Diaw quite literally throw it away.

Parker and Batum have been great but I'm not sure where the rest of the French team has been hiding. Spain has executed their plan to perfection. Their D has been superb, they have found the openings and been able to grab the board during a rare miss.

^ Ah well if you'd introduced yourself in the introductions section:

http://www.talkbaske...oduce-yourself/

We would have known ;)

Well France has to grab the boards immediately after Spain's offense. They can't afford to leave any chance for a tip-in/dunk from Ibaka/Gasols/Fernandez. I see some nice defense being played by France but at the same time there are lapses in their concentration to get themselves together. Valiant efforts are being made by Batum to give points together with showtime. He will definitely be France's next Parker.

Now Pau Gasol gets in on it, just outright hitting the opponent and not even being apologetic about it. Navarro is shooting like mad again, but he too is a whining, moaning bitch chasing the refs on every call they make!

I present to you 'equipo dos hijos de putas'

they are too much for us but the game should be closer than it really is. i guess their status as the second best team in the world gives them a free pass to foul without being called...

^ It's not that. In all the highest positions of organization in European/internationl basketball you have Spaniards. They pull all the strings and can make anything happen.

The talent of certain Spanish players is outlandish, Pau Gasol and Juan Carlos Navarro are two of basketball's greatest players of all time, but their performance is tarnished by their tendencies to be some of basketball's biggest pricks as well. In other words they don't have ethos.

Spain is simply to strong...Their front-court presence is perfect. The Hi-Lo ball movement is superb. The Front-court defense is amazing. Pau and Marc Gasol and Ibaka is just to much. Then you have Fernandez, Calderon playing well. Lastly Navarro bombing from everywhere on the planet. Game over Spain wins...

EDIT:I should also say a word about France. Their turnovers did them in. All tournament it has been a problem. It was lethal at the gold medal match. I do believe they are a quality team. They really needed Ronny Turiaf in the Front court. His presence would have helped them this game.

Basketball and Football the Spanish are kings. This is a special time for Spain. Congrats from USA!

I do have a question why do so many of the Spanish players act like pompous a$$**? Is this a reality or just my imagination? I'm the only one that notices this??

Re-watching...I just saw Rudy tackle Parker, Pau shoved a France player to the ground...wow they don't act like this in NBA. They are playing a bit dirty....

Have you read my posts? :P

You missed Fernandez's lethal grapple of Parker's head to stop him from scoring. That asshole should have been ejected.

Spain runs the transition better than any team in the world. Every turnover they immediately have an outlet option for a dunk or layup. They are one hell of a team.

I completely agree Raze that Turiaf was needed. He's the underrated physical presence that France needed in the interior.

I hate Noah, generally I think that he has his head far up his own a** but today I felt bad for him. He had some unbelievable fouls called against him. I particulalrly enjoyed his thumbs up gesture to the refs after their calls.

Spain was the better team tonight no doubt but teams across the globe will be gunning for them and I predict a shocking exit in the Olympics.

Well deserving champions.
Congratulations to Spain!
Congratulations to the refs, they've done their duty...

I hope in two years we'll have a new champion!!

As I heard from the Greek commentators, although they are both stupid, Navarro and Gasol may quit from the national team after 2012 Olympics!!
Great news hah?!!!

Spain NT is combined by 12 scumbags.. And for the record.. Serge Ibaka's real age is 25.. And Ricky Rubio will definitely be worst TOP 5 pick ever..
