So the final 4 of Lithuanian basketball federation cup starts tomorrow. Neptūnas stepped in kinda unexpected, but I'm happy with Rūdupis - the team that posses interesting young talents.

But the question off course is - who would grab the title? Will it be Neptūnas?

I expect some fight this time. Rytas have some nails this time and Žalgiris still has a lot to offer even with Romanov's games of their shoulders.

If you asked me 40 days ago, I would say Zalgiris easily... but things have changed a bit.

Still hoping for Zalgiris to win this though.
Respect and thanks for everything: Alvertis, Bodiroga, Jasikevicius, Radja, Wilkins, Vrankovic, Fotsis, Rebraca, Kattash, Gentile, Koch, Middleton, Kutluay, Rogers, Papadopoulos, Becirovic, Tomasevic, Siskauskas, Pekovic, Lakovic, Vujanic, Chatzivrettas, Maljkovic, Spanoulis and many more to follow in the near future.

Exactly. It's not easy to judge Žalgiris and Rytas at the moment. Žalgiris is somewhere in the crisis, but still can explode any minute. While Rytas has some consistency and reliability now and can be even dominant if it's their night, but I'm still not a fan of Trifunivič and there's always that feeling Rytas is lacking character.

You officially belong to minority :) Even though this forum is not entirely filled with Žalgiris fans so far.

"Rūdupis" Prienai performing very will in this tournament. Juškevičius has a bright future, probably NT material.

Žalgiris is making me sad. All the best players seems to be morally tired of the bullshit that is going on on the team. Basically current Žalgiris shows 40% of their potential. The coach simply working with Romonov's plan and basically only hurting the team. I don't how the fuck true Žalgiris fans tolerate that bullshit. I rather watch Rudupis, with these young leaders, than to watch that bullshit.

Hopefully Rytas will beat the shit our of that Russian circus.

This was Zouros' 1st title on Lithuanian soil. Two more to go. LKL and Eurobasket.

If I'm not mistaken Zouros has already won more trophies on Lithuanian soil than Kemzura...

Zalgiris - Lietuvos Rytas 81:69

Zalgiris returned the Cup trophy to Kaunas. They toppled Lietuvos Rytas and gained the Cup title after a two year pause. Travis Watson delivered 13 points to lead the winners.
Lietuvos Rytas and Zalgiris opened the game in an aggressive manner. The teams exchanged baskets as the Vilnius team gained an 18:17 lead after ten minutes. Lietuvos Rytas stayed in charge in the second term. They posted a 2-point lead at halftime 34:32. Zalgiris pulled ahead in the third term. They went on a 9:0 run to take a 50:43 lead. However Kenan Bajramovic helped Lietuvos Rytas got within just one point at the final intermission 49:50. Marcus Brown and Paulius Jankunas teamed up midway through the fourth quarter to give Zalgiris a 66:58 lead. Lietuvos Rytas could not respond this time allowing their opponents to rally to the victory. Paulius Jankunas and Tadas Klimavicius contributed 12 points each for the Kaunas team. Kenan Bajramovic replied with 21 points and 9 rebounds for Lietuvos Rytas. D.J. Strawberry and Milko Bjelica finished with 11 points apiece in defeat.

Zalgiris: Travis Watson 16, Paulius Jankunas 12, Tadas Klimavicius 12
Lietuvos Rytas: Kenan Bajramovic 21, D.J. Strawberry 11, Milko Bjelica 11

Not Žalgiris won, just Rytas lost...they won't reaching anything without defense... :) And Žalgiris seems to go to the right way - right now even substitutions became quite good (compared to before)...Zouras has balls or Romanov thrown out his stupid ideas because of media and Žalgiris' loses?

Black Urum, you forgot to mention BBL :D But I don't expect that to be like this :D

BTW, Kurtinaitis knew what is he talking about when he mentioned that Trifunovic couldn't win a single title while having Petravičius, Eidson, Nielsen, Laukauskis ect. 2007/2008. Trifunovic still not doing a good work. He has better team than last year, but Kurtinaitis' team played way BETTER defence and he controlled the team amazingly. Trifunovic simply can't bring this and he tolerates El- Amin's pointless bouncing of the ball...

Rytas has better team this season, but Žalgiris has far better team than last season. If Rytas had Kurtinaitis in their side I still would go 50/50 in LKL finals. But I can't see Rytas winning with Trif. BBL title in some random day, is the best he can bring.

I was told BBL F4 would take place in Estonia... unless you have territorial demands on Estonia and consider them Lithuanian soil
