In the meanwhile Real Madrid will be moving to a brand new arena called "Caja Magica" (The Magic Box).

Rent will be 1.1m euros per season for five years.

Has Messina lost all of his "magic"? Team chemistry is obviously low at the moment in Real Madrid. The fact that Prigioni was yelling at Messina recently is a clear sign of that. Yet it appears that Messina wants to prove that he can find a way to fix this situation. It's too early to make conclusions but right now Real needs a new coach.

Messina never was my favourite coach and now is one of the most hated when he joined Real. Probably begging for Siskauskas, Papaloukas and Smodis now...

Yeah, but that is not the formula for "big" teams. U can't just come to Pao from whatever place u wont. It has to be from Partizan! :D
So, we take Novica as our 4 this season. He gains his self-respect back, he plays full minutes, by the end of the season, he kicks-asses and then we give it to you, as always :D

I agree. It would be against the protocol. Also better this way, so next player is Vesely in 2011, then Novica in 2012.

Quote

Ettore Messina comented on last weekend's loss of Real Madrid in the ACB against Gran Canaria, stating that his team is like Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde performance-wise.

Real Madrid was up by 5 to enter the final quarter (41-46), and up by 8 with 8 minutes to go, yet they still managed to lose by 11 (70-59), after being outscored 29-13 in the final period.

"We were like Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde, because we played three quarters and a bit more good, in the sense the we compensated for our bad offense with good defense and rebound control. Up until the moment we led by 8 in the last quarter. And then, when the game entered it's final stage (with defenses becoming tighter and quick ball movement on offense), we didn't do any of those two things. We stopped defending as if we could win the game solely on offense. That is a mistake, a very bad one, especially if you play an away game. And in offense we stopped moving the ball. Those two things killed us.

Today, the challenge of this game was to play without precipitation and with the same calm as in a game that we would enter as favorites, something that in some cases is very difficult to achieve in a game that you could lose, like against Olympiacos. Because you play against a great team.

In the key moments of the game we precipitated. We threw away everything that we had built in the first 32 minutes. This is a very bad mistake and we keep learning. There is nothing we can do, except work, work and work."

Respect and thanks for everything: Alvertis, Bodiroga, Jasikevicius, Radja, Wilkins, Vrankovic, Fotsis, Rebraca, Kattash, Gentile, Koch, Middleton, Kutluay, Rogers, Papadopoulos, Becirovic, Tomasevic, Siskauskas, Pekovic, Lakovic, Vujanic, Chatzivrettas, Maljkovic, Spanoulis and many more to follow in the near future.

Ettore Messina is a great coach and he could coach every team in Europe and the NBA. I think Real Madrid is a title in the ACB and it's dark horse for the Euroleague. they have a very talented team. I only want to see Novica play more because he is a very talented player. They have one the most talented centers in Europe in Ante Tomic. D'or Fischer is also a great center. Carlos Suarez is a very good and talented player. Sergio Rodriguez is a good playmaker maybe with some good play in Europe he can come back to the NBA. Novica and Tomic are future NBA-players in my opinion

Real Madrid is interessed in Keith Langford. Unicaja and Panathinaikos also have interest in the player of Khimki. http://www.laopinion...?utm_source=rss

Keith Langford has received a contract extension from Khimki but he refused it. Panathinaikos and Real Madrid have offered him a two-year contract that would begin at the beginning of next season

Real Madrid officially announce Mirza Begic. He has signed a contract till the end of the 2012-2013 season

http://www.realmadri..._baloncesto.htm

I think Begic will be a good player for Real Madrid. Messina will use him a lot and Begic will develop and become better and better. But everything will depend on the adjustement of Begic to him new team. If he adjust very quick I think that everything fall in place for him and Real Madrid.

About Begic: Romanov first asked 600.000 euros plus Ante Tomic in return for Begic. Real Madrid refused the offer. They offered 600.000 euros and Romanov accepted the offer. That's still a lot of money and hopefully he'll prove that Real Madrid didn't waste money on him. He can be good for them but he'll need time to adjust
