Žalgiris is looking where to loan most of their young players. Seems like they could get an agreement with Utenos Juventus - unofficial sources say they tried to loan PG Vasiliauskas and PF Butkevičius. Next season will be great! Top teams are filled with quality, and others will have what to choose (so many talents to follow).

Yesterday was published information that Žalgiris and Juventus haven't agreed loan terms so Žalgiris won't lent their players for Juventus.

Really nice write up Sagenas! Very detailed.

I'm happy to see that you're optimistic on Rytas this year. For me there are two Rytas teams that are phenomenally talented. Those are the 07-08 team and the 05-06 team. The 07-08 team under performed but I would love to get that roster back together:

Buterlevičius, Simas
Šležas, Andrius
Vroman, Jackson
Štelmahers, Roberts
Lukauskis, Mindaugas
Price, Hollis
Anisimovas, Michailas
Petravičius, Marijonas
Jomantas, Artūras
Jordan, Jared
Gecevičius, Martynas
Eidson, Chuck
Brazdauskis, Lukas
Nielsen, Matthew
Bajramović, Kenan

The 05-06 team was probably even better:

Tomas, Ivan
Lukauskis, Mindaugas
Šležas, Andrius
Štelmahers, Roberts
House, Fred
Delininkaitis, Tomas
Čukinas, Povilas
Ežerskis, Ernestas
Mujezinović, Haris
Jasaitis, Simas
Jankauskas, Giedrius
Javtokas, Robertas
Baker, Maurice
Buškevics, Sandis
Nielsen, Matthew
Ruikis, Mantas

Thanks. :) I always believe in teams, which I like. :) Today Lithuania will play against Argentina and everyone think Argentina will win, but I'm optimistic. Right now Rytas' squad is good and talented, also they have very big potential. Many people say Rytas' roster isn't very good, but some players from long time ago wasn't so well known as they is right now - in that old times we thought they're average players in who we always believed, but they became better and right now they're players of Rytas fans' dreams.

What happened to Zavackas, I know he left Rytas but who did he sign with?

This year's team is a bit of a wild card for me. Brad Newley is a solid player and I'm curious to see how he'll fit in. Gecevicius needs to be the leader of this team. Last year he played great, so far for Lithuania he has been virtually non-existant on the court. He needs to step up his game when he's back in Vilnius for Rytas to be relevant. I'd like to see more consistant play from Jomantas. Some days he'll be a phenom and others he is a non-factor. The biggest wild card of them all is Valanciunas. These four young players will make or break Rytas this season.

Zavackas will play in Germany this season. He signed with EnBW Ludwigsburg.

Rytas loaned P.Baločka to Perlas. We need one more C/PF, because 4 isn't enough, especially while we're playing in so many tournaments.

Cheers, what about Sinica? I didn't realize that he had left Rytas, where did he go?

Still no one knows about him. He wasn't good enough so Vainauskas said that he wants to discontinue contract or loan him. He said, if they couldn't agree terms of contract's canceling, then Sinica may be loaned to Perlas, but after that no one heard any news about him.

Perlas? Wow, I know that Rytas has their special relationship with Perlas but I can't understand why every other Lithuanian team (except Zalgiris) wouldn't jump at the opportunity to take him on loan. He'd be a great addition to a team like Nevezis or Neptunas.

Perlas is unofficial second team of Lietuvos Rytas and they're playing in LKL. They're good and they have very much young prospects (awesome roster for LKL and BBL competitions).

Well, Sinica earns very much money playing in Lietuvos Rytyas so other teams can't pay him such an amounts of money. :) Sinica is a great shooter, but he isn't very good and may never be good enough to play in high level.

Klaipėda Neptūnas is going to be an interesting team this season. They signed some quality players and they have long term perspective to improve this team even more. Maybe we'll have another quality team in Lithuania, not only powerhouses and Šiauliai.

They could reach level of Šiauliai this season and maybe higher in other seasons (their budget will be higher).

Hey, still no news about Vasylius? Some time ago he was training with Neptūnas, but I can't see his stats in recently played friendly games, so he wasn't playing? Where he will play this season?

TonyBet became the main sponsor or Sakalai. They have high ambitions for the future. Although in this case "high ambitions" means little as nothing specific has been said. If Tony G decides to spend more money on the team it could easily become the 3rd best in LKL (this applies to any LKL team as the budget is main issue).

It's great to see Neptūnas rebuilding for a brighter future. Klaipėda could certainly have a strong team.

I was complaining about lack of ambitions from LKL teams apart from the big two but it seems that there are some positive changes taking place.

What about Virtus interest in buying LKL team? They were supposed to seal the deal until October if I recall correctly. Nobody wants their money or they found a better way to spend them?

Sounds like good news! We can expect higher overall quality of the league and some real knockout games, not only Rytas versus Žalgiris. I think increased amount of foreigners might work for good as well, Lithuanian players' agents won't demand too much in the local market. Rytas and Žalgiris won't be trying to sign all possible Lithuanian prospects desperately as they know they can choose more foreigners, that probably means more options for other teams and more equal and competitive league.

It's a great thing. LKL level rises. :) Šiauliai is as good as always, this season Perlas (with Rytas' players and other young prospects) looks very interesting. Also Neptūnas collected some good players (they will also increase their budget in years, so it will be more interesting). Sakalai will be very young and with good perspectives too (especially because of their sponsor). :) Juventus and Rūdupis also isn't bad at all. :) By the way, KK Kaunas in this season may be quite good, they have Čukinas, Vasiliauskas, Drungilas, Morkeliūnas, V.Jasikevičius and other guys. And right now it looks like they're not second team of Žalgiris.

Techasas may be at same level as they were in the last season if they could get some tall players.

Nevėžis with Črešnar (I don't remember his last name correctly, so I may be wrong), Alijevas, Brazdauskis will be better this season ;] And they extended their contract with Dimša. :)

I think this season only Alytus might be at very low level and we still don't know many things about Naglis-Adakras.

I can't wait it, this season will be interesting :D

Oh...many team leaders left in their teams and also other quite good level Lithuanians will also play in Lithuania, so it's gonna be more interesting. :)

/// Edit: Check it. About new changes of Sakalai

Žalgiris loans Ž. Janavičius for Šiauliai. I think it's a great move for the player, and Šiauliai is becoming more interesting team. Too bad they lost all great young players from last season. IMO, Gailius and Šikšnius could play one more season in Šiauliai, but the market is doing it's dirty job.

This kid's progress is not impressing me. Two years ago I watched him playing live, against Panathinaikos, he had impressed me. Since then he got lost.
