I write the recap of one of the games each week for the league's official website: TBL.org.tr... I don't know how many people of the population have Turkish origins, but the federation has a new Media Director, namely Mete Aktas, who made that offer to me. And after that respectable man's arrival, the site does good jobs like the recent interviews with Erwin Dudley, Michael Wright, Emir Preldzic and Charles Smith. If you wonder what they say, I can help about the translation if my English is enough for this. Just send personal messages {SMILIES_PATH}/wink.gif

I wrote this week's Aliaga Petkim vs. Galatasaray Cafe Crown game. After the coach change and the arrival of the new PG Rashid Atkins Galatasaray plays what the squad promises. If they can sign with an average big man instead of the underperformed Andrija Zizic, they can be one of the candidates for the final.

That's the recap from my keyboard: http://www.tbl.org.t....asp?Haber=4707
We just aim to get rid of often-used cliches writing the recap.

Congratulations man {SMILIES_PATH}/thup.gif That must be an interesting job to do. And as I understand you are enjoying it. Maybe we could make some ideas including Talkbasket.net? I'll send you a PM to you about that.

Keep up the good work {SMILIES_PATH}/thup.gif

Efes looks strong, Telekom and Fener are getting better day by day. Galatasaray needs time because of the changes that they've made during this season but they have a big potential. TBL Playoffs will be excellent...

That's really impressive. He also got turkish passport and could play in Eurobasket. How good is he? Putting such numbers should certainly attract the interest of the bigger clubs.

It seems the 2 turkish powerhouses have mixed things up and think they are playing at home when they are not. Fenerbahce won the first 2 games in the home of Efes, but Efes stroke back winning both games in the home of Fener!

To the game itself, Efes Pilsen took an early lead which they never lost afterwards to win the game 68-77. Now the series returns to the home of Efes for the final game. If Fenerbahce manage to win, there will have been no home victories in this amazing final series!

Shumpert added another great performance with 20 points and 4/6 3pointers. Thornton added 15, Gonlum 11 and Charles Smith 10. For the hosts Asik had 14 points, Solomon 12, Mrsic 11 and Onan 10.

Respect and thanks for everything: Alvertis, Bodiroga, Jasikevicius, Radja, Wilkins, Vrankovic, Fotsis, Rebraca, Kattash, Gentile, Koch, Middleton, Kutluay, Rogers, Papadopoulos, Becirovic, Tomasevic, Siskauskas, Pekovic, Lakovic, Vujanic, Chatzivrettas, Maljkovic, Spanoulis and many more to follow in the near future.

In yet another tough game, Efes Pilsen managed to score the first home win in these exciting Turkish league finals, with 74-68. The score is now 3-2 for Efes, since they pulled 3 straight wins after being down 0-2.

Efes Pilsen had a superb 1st quarter on both ends of the court, and took an early 12-point lead (24-12). Fenerbahce though, managed to regroup, played very solidly and won the 2nd quarter with a side score 15-23, to enter halftime down by only 4 (39-35), promising a very exciting 2nd half.

And so it was: the game was close throughout the whole 20 remaing minutes, but it was Efes Pilsen that managed to pull the win in the end with 74-68. The series returns to the Abdi Ipekci now for game 6, and 1st matchpoint for Efes.

Efes Pilsen: Kasun 6, Smith 11, Shumpert 14, Thornton 6, Gonlum 4, Peker 16, Tunceri 2, Guler 11, Arslan 4

Fenerbahce: Green 8, Solomon 14, Turkcan 6, Onan 10, Erden 9, Mrsic 4, Vidmar 2, Savas 7, Asik 4, Smith 4

Respect and thanks for everything: Alvertis, Bodiroga, Jasikevicius, Radja, Wilkins, Vrankovic, Fotsis, Rebraca, Kattash, Gentile, Koch, Middleton, Kutluay, Rogers, Papadopoulos, Becirovic, Tomasevic, Siskauskas, Pekovic, Lakovic, Vujanic, Chatzivrettas, Maljkovic, Spanoulis and many more to follow in the near future.

After 3 dry years Efes Pilsen returns to the top after beating Fenerbahce Ulker in the sixth game of the series. And what a series it's been! Fenerbahce managed to grab the first 2 wins away, yet Efes fought back to win 4 in a row, 3 of which at the home of Fener!

Efes Pilsen took off in the second quarter after laying behind by 4 in the first break. They outscored Fenerbahce 16-29 to take a 9 point lead with them to the locker room (41-50). The margin, the 91 points scored by both teams and the importance of the game, all gave promise of a great second half.

And so it was. Fenerbahce tried to comeback to the game winning both final quarters of the game (and the series as it was proven later), but their effort was too short and so Efes won the game 76-79 and celebrated their first championship title since 2005.

Fenerbahce: Solomon 14, Preldzic 10, Smith 9, Turkcan 8, Onan 8, Mrsic 8, Asik 8, Savas 5, Erden 4, Vidmar 2

Efes Pilsen: Peker 23, Thornton 10, Kasun 9, Arslan 9, Kakiouzis 8, Tunceri 7, Smith 6, Shumpert 6, Guler 1

Respect and thanks for everything: Alvertis, Bodiroga, Jasikevicius, Radja, Wilkins, Vrankovic, Fotsis, Rebraca, Kattash, Gentile, Koch, Middleton, Kutluay, Rogers, Papadopoulos, Becirovic, Tomasevic, Siskauskas, Pekovic, Lakovic, Vujanic, Chatzivrettas, Maljkovic, Spanoulis and many more to follow in the near future.
