Oostende fire coach

Today Base Oostende has fired coach Vlada Vukoicic. Vukoicic only coached 4 official games for Oostende. He lost 3 in the ethias league and tied in Eurocup. Last game in Charleroi some players and an assistent coach disagreed with coach Vukoicic and there were arguments during the game. Oostende will now be looking for a new coach while assistent coach Umberto Badioli will take his place. Because former coach Sharon Drücker still hasn't found a team after the Bologna incident, Oostende fans hope for his return.

Cabarkapa practicing with Vojvodina, Fischer signed

Ex Phoenix Suns player Zarko Cabarkapa is practicing in Novi Sad with Vojvodina, member of the Adriatic league. Former world champion with Yugoslavia is still recouperating from back injury, he hasn't played a game for two years. Cabarkapa says he is searching for a new club and is a free agent.

Unicaja destroy Cajasol in "regional derby"

ImageIn their first game at home this season, Cajasol Seville got a knockout by Unicaja Malaga (60-91) in a game which showed how far are sevillians from being the great team they are supposed to be, and the great basketball that Unicaja is playing this season. It was a game between individual players, such as Carter and Pecile, against an entire time, as it is the one from Malaga.

New faces made some impresive shows, such as Bracey Wright (Joventut), Paolo Quinteros (Zaragoza), Daniel Santiago (Barcelona), Pooh Jeter (Menorca)... Old faces continued the same good as last season: Josh Asselin (Manresa), Chris Thomas (Murcia), Igor Rakocevic (Tau Vitoria)... ZalgirisZalgiris defeated Greek giants Panathinaikos 80:69 in Moscow to take Alexandr Gomelsky Cup and 45,000 Euros. Paulius Jankunas and Ratko Varda both had 15 points for Zalgiris. Both teams will meet each other in Euroleague first round in Athens. Zeljko Obradovic took two time-outs in the dying minutes but they changed nothing.
