HEBA: Greek ticket sales rise by 16.5%

HEBAAfter the end of the Greek league which saw Panathinaikos re-establishing their domestic dominance, HEBA, the Greek Professional Clubs Association, published the statistics regarding the 2008/09 season ticket sales for all 14 teams of the Greek A1 League. The ticket sales have risen an overall of 16.5% since last year. The top 3 clubs in ticket sales, as expected were Panathinaikos, Olympiacos and Aris.

Bernard King Assists BK Ventspils back to Prominence in Latvia

Ventspils, Latvia-  After the LBL Championship trophy escaped the hands of BK Ventspils for the past two seasons. Bernard King this past Wednesday night helped the Latvian Club hold it once again with his performance. The 6'5" point guard had a near triple double with 20 points, 9 rebounds, and 9 assists in an overtime victory that was one of the best championship games ever played in the country.  It is rumored that teams out of the Ukraine and Russia are interested in King's services for next season.

Josh Childress keeps Olympiacos alive

Eidson signs 2-year contract with Maccabi

Long lasting rumours were put to an end after Chuck Eidson signed 2-year contract with Israeli champions Maccabi Tel Aviv. American guard-forward was strongly linked with The Yellows for a while. Eidson had probably the best season of his career both individually and team wise.

Lietuvos Rytas takes LKL title

Lietuvos RytasLietuvos Rytas finished their season with yet another trophy. Today they defeated arch rivals Zalgiris 82-70 to win LKL final series 4-1. Rytas took all possible trophies this season: BBL Presidents' Cup, LKF Cup, BBL, Eurocup and LKL.
