French champions Bourges have been dealt a blow as influential dead-eye shooter Cathy Joens has been sidelined for upto six weeks, French media report.

The skillful American has suffered a stress fracture and will miss the first six games of the new French season, plus two Euroleague Women games.

The ex-Chicago Sky averaged 13.5 points a game last season with the French side and agreed to re-join them next season. The team is considering bringing in a replacement.
