Olympiacos' fifteen year journey for a Greek title has ended as they defeated bitter rivals Panathinaikos 82-76 in game five to claim the A1 crown.
Led by an inspirational Vassills Spanoulis, who scored 24 points and the emerging talent of Giorgios Printezis getting 14 points and seven rebounds, Olympiacos have completed their best season in nearly a decade, as they added a Euroleague title to this season's list of trophies.
The Reds led by double digits for the majority of the second and third quarters, and despite a late fourth quarter rally from Pana, it wasn't enough as Olympiacos held on to win in-front of a jubilant Piraeus following.
For Panathinaikos, a rebuild is certain. With coach Zeljko Obradovic looking certain to step down - regardless of what happens - changes will no doubt be made as they look to get back what they have owned for nine straight seasons.
It's been hard for the Greens though, they have had to hand over the Euroleague title and the A1 Greek crown to their enemy.
Panathinaikos were led by Nick Calathes, who got 17 points.
